achievements
Start partway through with a basic kit (boarded window, 2 traps, the lantern, the stranger, some food and wood). Playtest runs don't count toward stats or the leaderboard.
Survive one night, 10 pm to 6 am. It takes about seven minutes, and it gets worse every hour.
Stoke the fire (S). If it stays out, the dark comes in.
Eat (E) all night or you starve. Cook (C) raw meat first; raw makes you sick. Meat goes bad: raw in about an hour, cooked in about three. Salt-cured meat keeps.
The room holds 25 logs in one pile. Stack more and it topples into the fire.
Go out to gather wood (G). Traps are the only way to get meat at night, and you check them on every trip. While you're out, no one is minding the room, and something hunts the trees.
An amber ember glows wherever you could build something: click it. (Or press B for the full list.)
People knock. Not everything that knocks is a person. The door only opens if you open it. Under a lit blood lantern, count the feet under the door.
Only a night survived to dawn scores: for making it, the people you let in, and what you still have.
Survive to dawn and you can rest through the day and face the next night, which is worse. A run is up to five nights. The third and fourth are a blizzard, where the cold can kill you and the logs come in frozen. Something else comes with the fourth. The fifth is the last.
